Friday, April 2: Personal Finance for Pre-Meds
Join us for a conversation with trauma surgeon Dr. Cristina Carpio on personal finances for pre-meds. We will also be discussing financial considerations of health care professionals, including malpractice, loan repayments, life insurance, and disability insurance.
Tuesday, March 30: Pre-Med Gap Year Panel
Join Columbia Women in Medicine this Tuesday (March 30) 7:30-8:30 PM for our Gap Year Panel event! We will have several graduates who are currently in their gap years speak about their experiences with how to navigate deciding whether a gap year is right for you and how to find opportunities for it. Join Columbia Women In Medicine Society at our first event of the year! Our Pre-med 101 event will be focused on helping students in the Columbia/Barnard community gain a better understanding of what being a premedical student means. We will be going over topics such as navigating the premedical curriculum, finding summer opportunities, and what resources to take advantage of on campus. We will also have current juniors, seniors, and medical students give their perspective on what being a premed is like, as well as helpful resources!
